Sagola in high-end finishing for the sports and leisure marine sector: two training days with the IMRON MARINE range (Axalta)

On 15 and 16 September, at the paint manufacturer's request, Sagola supported the technicians specialising in the IMRON MARINE range at the manufacturer's training centre in Madrid, working to get the most out of the main spray finishing equipment commonly used in this sector, which is geared mainly to the finishing of sports and leisure craft and luxury yachts.

The sessions brought together 26 professional painters from the Balearic Islands, the Valencian Community and Andalusia, through the distributors Riera H and Perchán.

Equipment set-up, the core of both days

Most of the training was devoted to setting up the pressure equipment, combining the 10-litre Sagola 6110 Inox pressure pot — stainless steel and ATEX certified — with the pressure-feed version of the Sagola X4100, seeking the balance between a flawless finish and optimum paint consumption while maintaining high productivity. The right combinations were used for each stage of the process, 1.00 mm fluid tips (clearcoats and high-gloss finishes) and 1.20 mm (primers, wet-on-wet), together with the 777 and 765 air caps for maximum performance and application speed, with constant emphasis on how to achieve optimum pressure and flow settings.

The Sagola 4600 DFT and 4600 HEX for detail work

Alongside the pressure equipment, the Sagola 4600 DFT was used for basecoat blends and the Sagola 4600 HEX for repainting and for blending in clearcoat patches.

Both use air caps with DFT technology, which draws on ambient air to achieve the same atomisation at a lower working pressure. Hence lower paint consumption, less overspray and a more stable fan pattern.

Working alongside paint manufacturers

Sagola would like to thank Ricardo Gayoso, the manufacturer's Training Manager, and Eusebio Rivero, Technical Manager, for involving the company in this training and for running the sessions jointly.

The success of these sessions means that Sagola will continue to take part in further training activities for this sector, due to take place during October.

With actions such as this one, Sagola continues to work alongside paint manufacturers, bringing its equipment and its application know-how to the professionals who use it every day.

Maximising contact with professionals

Machinery trade fairs and technical conferences are the perfect setting for distributors, manufacturers and customers to meet and exchange news and opinions in the sector. A great showcase to show our products, but also to gather feedback from them. At Sagola, the opinion of our customers is very important to improve and innovate and also to give unconditional support to our distribution. For this reason, during the month of May, we have intensified the organisation of these events throughout the Iberian Peninsula; Valencia, Basque Country, Catalonia, Andalusia, Castilla León, Balearic Islands, Portugal and Madrid. Relying on Sagola to carry out demonstrations of a wide range of products from our catalogue for the bodywork, industry, wood and construction sectors and supporting the recovery of contact with professionals in these sectors.

We are grateful for the large number of users who came to our stands, showing interest in learning about Sagola's new products and also trying them out in our virtual experience. Of particular interest was the new Elcometer range of products, such as the Elcometer 311 Automotive Paint Micrometer, an essential tool for detecting previous repairs to a vehicle's bodywork, or the Elcometer 480 Glossmeter, which quickly and accurately measures and records the gloss of a wide range of materials including paint, wood, plastic, ceramic and metal. Our latest gun launched on the market, the Sagola X4100, which replaces the legendary 4100, was also in great demand.

In the wood sector, we had a lot of interest for the Sagola HTV vertical bellows mixer and the Sagola Pack 6000X hot air system. We cannot forget the bodywork sector where the 4600 Xtreme and the limited edition 4600 Trophy Truck, which always receive a great positive review from all those who test them, are already a classic.

Our stand has been present at the fairs of Grupo Peña, Iturmaberri, L Tintas, Pitem, Segopi, Soldufer, Sulaypin, AD Bosch y Lozano, Deco Penedes and Pinturas Carman, whom we thank for their involvement and great support to our brand.

We present at cesvi our range of industrial painting and inspection equipment

This October we visited the CESVIMAP facilities in Ávila to present the new range of X4100 series spray guns as well a selection of Elcometer inspection equipment aimed for the bodywork and industrial vehicle sector.

During the day we had the opportunity to present and test the X4100 series in its three versions: Gravity, pressure and suction. And we carried out a technical introduction of Elcometer inspection devices such as dry film thickness gauges (Elcometer 311 and 415), dew point meters (Elcometer 319), fluid temperature thermometers (Elcometer 212), gloss meters (Elcometer 480), backlighted magnifiers ( Elcometer 137), wet film thickness combs (Elcometer 112), viscometers (Elcometer 2435 and 2351), etc ...

For the first time, Elcometer visits the prestigious research center showing its wide possibilities in the control, analysis, verification and certification of painting quality, before, during and after the vehicle painting processes.

CESVI and Sagola continue to reinforce the high level of cooperation that both institutions have maintained for years.

The new X4100 Series already in progress

During this month of April, the last field tests of this long-awaited industrial model are being carried out, in its renewed Pressure and Suction versions, with its new, ergonomic and effective design.

In addition to different prototype tests in industrial users, the automobile and industrial vehicle research center, CESVIMAP, is actively participating in the tests of this new range, with the first series units already in its hands.

Maintaining the essence, functionality, robustness and solutions, which has always characterized our legendary 4100 Xtreme and 4100 top industrial model (first versions launched in 1991), the new X4100 Series improves behavior, ergonomics, comfort, weight and also reduces the size aiming to lead the industrial painting sector once again.

The pressure model brings many improvements. The suction version we can just be considered as the best spray gun within that range.

Available at the main SAGOLA distributors next May.
